Obituary of Janet Moore

Janet Ruth Dugan Moore, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully May 20th, surrounded by family. Born June 20, 1927 in Ithaca NY, she was an adventurer, learning to fly an airplane at 16 and traveling across country by train at a young age. Janet graduated from Elmira College and enjoyed a successful career as a senior executive with Knowledge Industry Publications Inc. Over the years she was active in the community in PTA, Garden Club, Women's Club, and Junior League. She was a member of Larchmont Yacht Club. A true matriarch, she was happiest and proudest when surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Peter Gale Moore, and by her daughter, Sarah Alexandra Moore. She is survived by her daughter Louise Moore Williams (Steve) and grandsons Peter and Jonathan Williams; daughter Betsy Hanlon, grandchildren Will and Clare Hanlon; son Tim Moore (Pam), grandsons Kevin and Chris Moore (Shae) and great-grandson Landon Moore; Daughter Kate Olsson (Jim), grandchildren Spencer, Kia and Luke Olsson; daughter Lucy Johanson (Phil), grandchildren T.J. and Zachary, Kelly and Bridget Johanson. Respects can be paid Thursday 4-7pm at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont and Friday 11am at Larchmont Avenue Church. Burial will be private.
