The Hargrave's moved to NY City in the 1960's, then later to Larchmont where they raised their family. In 2004 they moved to Somers NY. Mr. Hargrave was a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh, receiving both Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Mr. Hargrave held various roles within the Securities Industry, including a 32 year career on Wall Street, which he enjoyed very much. In the 1960's Mr. Hargrave was one of the stock brokers who helped revitalize the Paine Webber Headquarters Board Room, where he was appointed Account Vice President. He later moved to the headquarters of Oppenheimer & Co. NY, and then to A.G. Edwards in Greenwich CT. For many years Mr. Hargrave sang bass in various quartets, glee clubs, mixed choruses and choirs. He often spoke of the thrill he experienced performing Bach's St. Matthew Passion under the direction of the famed conductor Robert Shaw at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Hall. Other interests included skiing, automobiles and following the financial markets.
