Obituary of Mildred June Reilly

Mildred June Reilly, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle passed away peacefully on November 24, 2013, at the age of 99, with her family by her side. Born 6/07/1914, to Ernest & Mabel (Robinson) Hudson. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband, James W. in 1984. Survived by a son, James (Phyllis) of Mamaroneck, two grandchildren, Judy (Leo) Marzen, Stamford, Ct., & Kim (Raymond) Chmelecki of Mamaroneck. Also 5 great-grandchildren; Cheyenne & James Chmelecki, & Reilly, Tyler & Alison Marzen. Also survived by a niece, Rebecca (Wild) Baxter of Sarasota, Fl. and many cousins. Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by sister, Dorothy (Hudson) Wild & nephew Michael Wild. Known all her life as June, she will be sorely missed by her loving family & friends. June was a 60+ member of The New Rochelle Presbyterian Church & a member of the Ladies Guild. Earlier she had worked in retail for Arnold Constable and Lord & Taylor .She and Jim were long time members of The New Rochelle Rowing Club where they enjoyed many summer days at Pine Island. They especially loved their cottage on Echo Lake in E.Charleston, Vt. where many summers were spent making memories with their precious grandchildren. June was an artist and leaves behind many pieces of artwork to be enjoyed. Besides paintings, handmade quilts, and petit points, she loved sculpting ceramics. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Presbyterian Church of New Rochelle on Friday, Nov.29th at 11:00am. Interment will be in Vt. at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Society or The New Rochelle Presbyterian Church.
