Obituary of Colleen Hagan

Colleen Hagan June 19, 1958 - October 17, 2013 Colleen Hagan (Nee: McEvoy), longtime Larchmont resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 17th after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the daughter of Thomas McEvoy and the late Mary McEvoy of Stuart, FL. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin Hagan and sons Sean and Scott; brothers Tom McEvoy (Marie) of Raleigh, NC, and Michael (Kathy) of Rye Brook; Aunt Colleen Hopkins (John) of Greenwich, CT and Uncle Leslie Brenner of Huntington Station, NY; father-in-law Edward Hagan (Irene) of Williamsburg VA; sister-in-law Kerry Morelli (Michael) of Bronxville; brother-in-law Keith Hagan of Mamaroneck, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law Helen Hagan. Colleen was born June 19, 1958 in Queens, NY and grew up in Larchmont and Mamaroneck where she attended St. John & Paul School and Resurrection High School. She was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College. After graduation Colleen worked for the public accounting firm Touche-Ross in New York City. For the past 10 years she worked for the accounting firm of Weinstein & Formanek in Mamaroneck. Colleen was a wonderful person who always saw the good in everyone. Family was the most important thing to her. She loved and cherished Kevin and their boys. She was so proud of their many accomplishments and awards in baseball and hockey. She served on the board of the Mamaroneck Youth Hockey Association for the past 10 years. She was team mom and accountant, organizing rides, schedules, and fund raisers. She gave selflessly with no expectation of thanks or monetary payback. The boys' happiness was her reward. Love was abundant in her family. The family will hold a visitation at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont on Monday, October 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will be on Tuesday, October 22 at 10am at Saints John and Paul Catholic Church in Larchmont. In lieu of flowers the family is establishing a college fund for the boys. Donations can be made to the Hagan Children's College Fund, c/o Michael McEvoy, 313 Betsy Brown Road, Rye Brook, NY 10573.
