Obituary of Helen G. Clephane

Helen G. Clephane, a longtime resident of Larchmont died June 12, 2013 at Greenwich Woods Nursing Home at the age of 100. She was born in Staten Island to Louis and Mary Johansen. She attended public schools in Staten Island then went on to Cooper Union. Later she received a nursing degree at Flower 5th Ave. Hospital. She married Douglas Clephane in 1940. They moved to Larchmont in 1942 where they raised two children. Helen was involved in many community activities including, Garden Club, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Larchmont Red Cross, Larchmont Shore Club. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and power boating. She was also a communicant at St. Augustine Church. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband in 1979. She is survived by her son Thomas (Connie) and her daughter Suzanne. She is also survived by two grandchildren, David and Colin. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on June 26th at 11:00 AM at St. Augustine Church in Larchmont. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Augustine Church would be appreciated.
