Susan and Michael Blakemore lit a candle

We would like to express our deepest condolences to Dona and the entire Bishop family. Bob was the quintessential gentleman. His kind nature and contagious smile made him a rare human being. We feel lucky to have known Bob for so many years. The time we all spent together in Tuscany is one of our most cherished travel memories. Susan's fond memories extend back to her childhood. Our mutual love of the mountains gave me a special bond with Bob. He and I would share stories of time spent in the snow and cold. Back in September of 2000, Bob's gave us a copy of Soldiers On Skis. The inscription he made to us on the inside cover ends with, "... in the cause of peace and love." That statement sums up Bob's life quite nicely. We will never forget him.

Dad I won the Father lottery with you as my Dad. There are so many wonderful memories and I will miss your hugs and kisses so much.
So many things I would like to share about you:
First and foremost your love of your beautiful wife Dona and your children and grandchildren.
You started your own photo retouching studio (I think it was with a $200 loan)and became such a prominent retoucher working with Richard Avedon, Scavollo and many others.
Good times with you in your Mother's apartment in Brooklyn when you arm wrestled with your brothers and you all spoke French.
Our trip together to Quebec in search of the farm where you were born(even though it was gone).
Your love of Paul Stuart clothes.
That you crewed on the Bermuda race (I think 2 times).
When I was young you wore an ascot.
The time the police came to Aunt Irene's house after you and your brothers set off an M80 in the middle of the street.
You were a model for IW Harper Whiskey.
Your service with the 10th Mountain Division Ski Troops in Colorado.
Your co-authored a book about the 10th Mountain Division and went to a book event in Colorado with it.
The time you went drinking with your sons in NYC and you were piggybacked across Madison Avenue.
You played football in the yard with Billy and his friends, caught the football and ran into the tree.
Your love affair with your little Mercedes and the experience you had driving across Europe in it with Dona.
Spring and Fall in the boat yard with you when I was young and you were working on your boat-sometimes we helped you.
Your counseling of young people even though you did not have the credentials (license)to do so, but you had mostly good advice and I know that you enjoyed the one-on-one with those you counseled and I'm sure they appreciated it and enjoyed the time with you(who wouldn't).
There is so much more to be said there would never be enough room.
Rest in peace Dad. Maybe you are arm wrestling with your brother Walter??

Dear Uncle Bob (Buzz): I will miss you very much. You've been an inspiration to me and my family and we will always be grateful. Our times together enjoying apres ski at Madonna, Monte Sano's at the LYC, cruises on Sundance and Sundays watching the Giants will always be cherished. Your warm smile, firm embrace, and big kisses will stay with me as long as I live.

Mr. Bish,
I am a better man because of you. It may sound corny, but You taught me the importance of lighting a fire in the Fall for your famuily, and because of you, every year when the Fall arrives, I think of the first time you showed me how to light the perfect fire, and think of the F's,,,,
Fall , Football, Friends, Family , Food, Fun, and of course FIRE.. There is nothing like it, and its because of you that I can share that with my Family.
Thank you for the many clicks of the glass that we shared.
You are a true gentleman.
God Bless
Jay

Grandpa no words can explain how much you will be missed or how much you meant to all of us. I feel so lucky to have had you in my life and I will always cherish that we had a chance to dance at my wedding. I have so many wonderful memories of you and I love you so much. Thank you for being the most wonderful grandpa anyone could have.
