Obituary of Kenneth J. Nixon
Kenneth J. Nixon of Larchmont NY died on April 5th 2013 at Calvary Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Ken was born to the late Margaret and Kenneth J. Nixon in New Rochelle NY on November 18th, 1936. He graduated from Iona Preparatory School in 1954 and received a BA in History from Holy Cross College in 1958. Ken graduated New York University School of Law where he was a Root Tilden Scholar. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1962.
He had a distinguished career at Merrill Lynch spanning over 25 years, retiring in 2005 as a Vice President and Senior Tax Counsel. From 2002-2005 he was Chairman of the Equity Commitment Committee.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Sheila McCarty Nixon, son Kenneth J. Nixon III and his wife Katherine Ellis Nixon, and three grandchildren, Charlotte, Kenneth IV, and Serena. He is also survived by his twin brother Robert B. Nixon. He is predeceased by his sister, Ann Nixon Shea.
He was an active member of Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont for over 50 years, and he was a lifelong member of the Larchmont Shore Club where he served on the Board for many years.
In his retirement, "Pop" enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his three grandchildren. He was an avid reader, and loved the hours he spent tending both his perennial and vegetable gardens.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont on April 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM. followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery
