Obituary of Donald T. Driscoll

Reverend Donald T. Driscoll, 81, passed away on March 8, 2013 after a long illness. Father Driscoll was born on November 17, 1931 in the Bronx, NY. Following service in the U.S. Army , he entered Dunwoodie Seminary and was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of New York on May 30, 1964. Father Driscoll's initial assignments were at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Staten Island, St. Augustine's Parish in Larchmont, NY and The Church of the Infant Savior Parish in Pine Bush, NY. He subsequently began his long service on the faculties at diocesan high schools, including Bishop Dubois High School, Cardinal Hayes High School, Moore Catholic High School and Cathedral High School. He was also appointed as the Director of the Evangelization Project at Iona College. Father Driscoll's last assignment was serving as the chaplain at Rockland Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg, NY. He retired on July 1, 2006. Father Driscoll was predeceased by his beloved parents, Helen McArdle and John Francis Driscoll. He is survived by his sister, Jeanne Queenan of Scarsdale, his brothers, John Driscoll, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY and Robert Driscoll of Woodland Hills, CA, thirteen nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews. A wake will be held at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6:00-9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM.
