Obituary of Joan Marie Coughlan
Joan Marie Coughlan, of Larchmont, N.Y. died peacefully on February 8, 2013. She was 83 years old and a resident of Brighton Gardens in Stamford, CT.
Born May 7, 1929 in the Bronx, NY to the late Charles and Gladys (Cummings) Baily, Joan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle and became a teacher in the New York City public school system.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Francis Pierce Coughlan Jr. and they lived in Larchmont NY where she was a loving wife, devoted mother and devout parishioner at Sts. John and Paul RC parish for over 40 years.
Joan is survived by her brother Charles Baily Jr. of North Bergen, NJ and four children: Francis Baily Coughlan of Apalachicola, FL, Ellen (Douglas) Neil of Fairfield, CT, Grace (John) Connell of Westport, CT and Paul (Elizabeth) Coughlan of Norwalk, CT. She is the proud grandmother of Grace, Catherine and Hugh Connell and the aunt to many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Baily of Poquson, VA.
Joan will be missed by the tennis players at the Larchmont Shore Club where she was a long time member and by her friends throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties.

Friends are invited to call at John J. Fox Funeral Home, Boston Post Road, Larchmont, N.Y. on Tuesday, February 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Roman Catholic burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 13th at 10 am at Sts. John and Paul Church in Larchmont. Interment will be at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y.
