Frances E. Prigoda Obituary

In Loving Memory of a Remarkable Woman. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend, Frances “Lolly” Prigoda, who graced this world for an extraordinary 100 years. Born in Manhattan, New York, she grew up amidst the trials of the Great Depression, shaping a spirit of resilience, compassion, and unwavering determination that inspired all who knew her. What would be an insurmountable ordeal to most people would be “a little problem” for Lolly. The youngest of four devoted sisters and a younger brother, Frances embodied the values of loyalty and love, forming bonds that endured across the decades. She shared 72 beautiful years of marriage with her cherished husband, Paul, a testament to their deep and enduring love. Together, they built a home filled with laughter and warmth. Her family was her pride and joy, especially her three grandchildren, who knew her as their greatest champion and wisest confidante. Beyond her family, she touched countless lives with her generous heart, sage advice, and keen insight. Frances was a beacon of optimism, creativity, and fun, always ready with a story to share or a kind word to offer. Her fierce independence was matched only by her selflessness and thoughtfulness. A gifted conversationalist, she had a knack for making anyone feel seen and valued. Whether she was sharing wisdom from a century of life experiences or simply lending a listening ear, her presence brought comfort and light. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind—one of love, generosity, and unyielding hope. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we take solace in knowing her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), a Long Island based agency dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Rest easy, dearest Frances. Your love, laughter, and wisdom will forever guide us.
