I worked with Dave for decades as a young lawyer and then partner at Debevoise. In a firm filled with hundreds (literallly) of the finest colleagues one could hope to have, Dave stood out (not just because of his height). He had a perfect blend of intellect without arrogance, sincere interest in your professional and personal well-being, and gentle but commanding leadership grounded in outstanding judgment. I always looked forward to walking into Dave’s office because no matter what the ask, I knew it was going to be a rewarding experience. Bless Dave and his beloved Trixie.
