Obituary of Marian Puro Froehlich

Marian Puro Froehlich passed away peacefully at her residence in Rye, NY on May 17, 2024, at
the age of 97. Marian lived in Rye, NY, most recently at the Osborn. Prior to that she lived in Larchmont, NY for 60 years. She was born September 8, 1926, to the late Morris & Bessie Puro and resided in Southern New Jersey. She then went on to attend college at The School of Industrial Art of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts. She graduated in 1948. In 1950, Marian went to a dance at the International House at the University of Pennsylvania where she met the love of her life, Henry Froehlich who predeceased her in 2008. Together they raised their children Peter Froehlich and Carol Froehlich-Hull. Marian was a very accomplished artist, primarily a sculptor. She received many accolades from the years 1971-2008. She participated in solo shows, group shows, and juried shows. Among the many exhibitions, in 1975 Marian received the first prize, the New England Silvermine Award for Sculpture. Marian is survived by her loving children Peter Froehlich and Carol Froehlich – Hull, her three grandchildren Lindsey Feldman, Max Hull (Lily) and Sophie Froehlich – Hull (Jesse). She is also survived by her darling great grandchildren Allie Froehlich, Jayden Froehlich, Isaiah Froehlich, and Micah Froehlich. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. A funeral will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10:30 am at Larchmont Temple, 75 Larchmont Avenue, Larchmont, NY. Interment to follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery. The family will observe Shiva on Monday May 20 and Tuesday May 21 from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Carols home.
