I am very sad to see this obituary. John was my dentist thru my teenage years, and we shared love of our Alma Mater, Iona Prep. My most unforgettable memory of John related to the Summer of 1973, the Summer after my first year in law school. John and his family loaned me their house in Larchmont Manor while they vacationed elsewhere, allowing me to serve as the Village of Larchmont tennis pro, working out of Flint Park. The most fun Summer of my life. Thanks for that, John, and for being such a caring and skilled dentist and friend. You lived an exemplary life.

I still have the crown on one of my lower front teeth that John put on for me over 40 years ago. John did wonderful work and and I literally think of John every time I floss my teeth! There will never be another! Thank you for your being in my life!

I met John for the first time almost 25 years ago. I was just a little girl, who lived in a very small village where he and his wife used to go during their holidays. We met in the Pizzeria where they also met my Grandma. They used to be friends. Three old people who couldn’t understand each other but at the same time they can communicate in a very unique way. A friendship started.
I thought of him as my “american grandfather”. He from the big city, me from the small italian village Fiano. I was so lucky to meet him.
I want to immagine him with my grandma looking down on their families.
Forever in my heart.

Amazing Man, Amazing Family, Amazing Life - a constant theme seems to have surrounded Uncle John!!! He was indeed a Legacy in and of himself, but what a tremendous Legacy John and Florrie have built that will indeed carry on for generations to come. His compassion, love of family, friends and life, appreciation of others, simple and fine things in life, love of God and of course an incredible love of his partner, best friend, wife etc - Florrie is something that we all should be blessed to have in our own lives. Enjoy Heaven John and say hi to Tom and Nel for me!

Florrie, Carla, John, Paul and Family,
Wow! What a beautiful photo of one of the most wonderful men I have ever known. John was so much to so many and will certainly always remain in our hearts, thoughts and memories forever. John loved you, his family, more than words can say and I am sorry for your sadness. He was a fighter and as he told me, “I am a miracle” and that he was with such grace. Another Angel. May he Rest In Peace with his family until you meet again.
I want to thank you for sharing him with me. I love you all. XXOO

Ohhh, where to begin?! Meeting John the first time - napping in the hammock at the Toad…later, per Betty’s instructions, John walked me down the “aisle” (sand) to marry my own bestie and love, EXACTLY twenty years ago on Feb 19! Both John & Florrie have been treasured by us both, truly, as parental figures but, most especially, the dearest of truest friends. From days lying in the sun with our books (that evolved into Kindles)…to cocktails at sunset…dinners at Pineapple Pete’s with Ronnie Santana playing…to tiny little eateries-ish with the best foo…to Mark stirring up politics with Lud when John was around…Man. The MEMORIES. So many more. We will be on the stream as I don’t think we can be there, sadly, in person. Florrie and family, you are ALL in our thoughts and our hearts during this difficult time and beyond. May the memories of such a SPECIAL man bring you comfort in your grief. John was loved and John loved. With so so much love, always - Lisa and Mark Ridenour (aka “the Bride and Groom”). Love you!

John was always “Special” Florrie and I were friends since 3rd Grade at St Augustine’s We went to her house every day for lunch Her Mom was lovely. When John came into Florrie’s life we became very good friends. We married our boyfriends about the same time.
John was always thoughtful and kind Example being that I had very bad teeth and my dentist said they would have to be taken out and false teeth put in. Johnny had just opened his dental office and I went to him. At the time pregnant with my third child and Bill was finishing law school. Johnny said, don’t worry he would cap them all and I could pay him on time. That was John. We would vacation in Cape Cod, Nantucket and Spain and loved being with them. We loved their children as well. They were just like their Mom and Dad
We will miss our luncheons at LYC and rocking on the porch there. He was such a gentle man God Bless You John

Probably spent more of my childhood with him than my parents would have preferred. I was so attached to that office, I commuted up to it from NYC even after he retired.
What a beautiful life, so fully lived.
Sending love to the Feuerbach family.

My favorite aunt and uncle. They were my godparents after all. Many memories of uncle John but I will go with the one he was always fondest . That day after Christmas an 8 yer old me had a dentist appointment with my uncle after a much celebrated Christmas night. He did not want to be there and neither did I. So I decided to up and leave in a fit of tears or some sort. It would be a running joke between us from that point forward. And like he said " I never worked the day after Christmas again". love you uncle John rest in peace.
Your godson Dennis.

Dear Florrie and family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy. Truly John is on God’s embrace.
John was my friend who I felt close to even when I did not say a word. He almost knew what I was thinking! During my 14 years at St. Augustine’s I looked to him for inspiration and strength. He was always a ready giver of both and so much more. His influence was vast and lasting. We all need John in our lives as confidante, friend and man for others. Like a true champion of a man, he is the model for our young people to emulate,
I live at our motherhouse in Danville, PA so will watch the funeral on my iPad.
In the peace that only God can give,
Sister Suzanne Duzen,SS.C.M.

Dr John lived an amazing life full of love, enthusiasm and kindness. I really do not have a memory of any meaningful phase of my life that do not include Dr. J…growing up and playing in the backyard at Hazel lane, Larchmont Saints, super bowl parties, labor day parties, family weddings, of course years of visits to his office and most recently being such a comforting presence to me and my family when our own John passed away. I will miss Dr. John tremendously as I know hundreds of others will as well. Peace Dr. J
