Obituary of Lennart Richard Torstensson
Lennart Richard Torstensson (a.k.a. Len, Lenny), 74, passed away January 21, 2024, at his residence in New Rochelle, NY. He was born on February 6, 1950 in Tarrytown, New York to Virginia and Torsten Torstennson.
In his younger years, Lennart joined the Air Force in 1968. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1972.
Post-military life saw Lennart maintaining the hallways of education as a custodian at Mamaroneck High School District from 1987 until 2011.
He found much enjoyment camping with friends and fishing. His fishing pole was always in the trunk of his car and he still held his original fishing license from 1983.
Lennart's journey through life was one filled with laughter, and a smile that could light up the darkest room. His generosity and commitment to his family knew no bounds.
Lennart leaves behind his sisters Mona Hallinan of Florida, Gail Bogdanski of Maine, and Linda Torstensson of Florida; his nieces and nephews, Christian, Catherine, Shannan, Kayla, Edward, and their children.
Lennart was predeceased in death by his parents, Virginia and Torsten, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms.
Our hope is that Lennart will be remembered for his infectious smile and huge heart.
Lennart was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
