Rosetta was a dear friend to so many who had the privilege of knowing her before any family members were part of her life. Many of her Mamaroneck High friends remained part of her life until the end. Growing up in Larchmont, Ro and I shared boy-crazy years double dating in 9th and 10th grade. The only time in my life that I went to temple was with Ro for High Holy Days at Larchmont Temple. All girls shopped at the family store, Van's, on Chatsworth Ave. in Larchmont, it was an "institution!" Rosetta is on nearly every page of my diary (still in my drawer) which ironically she never wanted to rehash, preferring to look forward and not back I guess. Because of Ro I have over 100 Penguins in my collection...OY. Ro and I met at Sam's of Gedney Way for lunch once a month until Covid. I was so proud of her for the work she told me about with CASA and Planned Parenthood and I was SO envious of her relationship with Jeffrey and Corey which she always kept me abreast of. She set the bar high and my grandparenting skills were/are pathetic by comparison. Jill, Joni, Midge, Barbara, Elly and I will keep her in our monthly Zoom conversations forever. Oh how we will miss our brave, always positive and hopeful friend.
