Rita was a bright light in the world to everyone who had the great good fortune to meet her. She was beautiful, fun, and selfless, took great pleasure in her friends and gave more. She was reassuring and loving, kept confidences and gave solid advice. Her sweetness never meant that she was wishy-washy: not at all. she had her opinions and shared them, and you would do well to listen closely and take any advice that was offered. I could go on and on and still not capture a quarter of her wonderful attributes. She had a calm and smiling certainty about her, and her warmth stayed with you long after your visit with her was over. To say she will be missed understates the way she will remain, a solid and comforting presence in all our hearts. We will hold you there forever, Rita, and you will always be with us, even as we mourn your loss.
