Ruth Grube Green 92, formerly of Larchmont, died peacefully at United

Hebrew Geriatric Center in New Rochelle on September 10, 2023.

Ruth was born April 30, 1931 to Richard and Elizabeth Grube. She was the

youngest of five and grew up in Larchmont. She graduated from

Mamaroneck high school in 1949 and worked as an administrative assistant

at Sutton and Whittemore Real Estate. She married Charles Green on July

23, 1955. Together they raised their three daughters- Cathy Levy (Seth),

Betsy Nunez (Alberto) and Nancy Barbero (Mark).

Ruth was incredibly kind and enjoyed all things family. She was a devoted

wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-

grandmother. She was quietly strong and modeled resilience and grace for

all who knew and loved her. Her “glass half full” approach to life

demonstrated the importance of remaining positive during challenging times.

She had a great sense of humor and loved spending her leisurely time

completing crossword puzzles, word searches, and playing her beloved

Scrabble with anyone who had time to join her.

Her three daughters and their spouses survive her. Her five grandchildren

also survive her: Sarah and Michael Levy, Patrick Nunez, and Katie and

Matthew Barbero (Stephanie). Great-granddaughter Emma Barbero and

many nieces and nephews also survive her.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband of 61 years Charles, brothers Ernest and

Richard, and sisters Margaret Collins and Beatrice Walsh.

Services will be held at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont from 4:00-7:00pm

on Friday, September 15. A prayer service will be held at 10:00am at Fox

funeral home on September 16. She will be laid to rest at Beechwood

cemetery in New Rochelle, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to United Hebrew

Geriatric Center in New Rochelle. The Skalet 2 staff at United Hebrew were

Ruth’s second family, and she adored and appreciated them all.
