I just read of Don’s passing today. Don and I were in basic training together at Fort Dix NJ from November 1970 until January. Charlie Company. Don and I were friends during basic even though I went to Fordham and he went to Manhattan. Unfortunately when he went to Infantry school and I went to Military Police school we lost touch although I think we lived near each other for a while (I lived on Bronx River Road). Rest in Peace old friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers go out to the entire Gallagher family. Donald was my track coach in the 1970’s. He was a positive influence in my life and a great motivator. Somehow he made pushing yourself fun. I have carried that lesson through out my life. Thanks Coach! Terry Cahill
