Obituary of Robert T. Ryan

Robert T. Ryan passed away peacefully at his home in Larchmont on June 5, 2023 at the age of 83. He was formerly of Mamaroneck, NY. Bob was born Nov. 27, 1939 in New Rochelle, NY to Margaret and John Ryan. He was predeceased by his brother, John P. Ryan and sister, Margot Quinn. He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Kathryn (Snydar) and his children, John L. and Elizabeth (Conto), of Darien, CT, daughter, Amanda K. Corcoran, (Brian) of Sherman, CT and two grandchildren, Annabel and Desmond Corcoran, brother Kevin Ryan, wife, Marilyn (Snydar), nieces, Barbara Pilcher, Susan Quinn, Maria Fellows, Laura Overby, Hilary Tucker, Alexandra Foley, and nephews, Justin Ryan, and Carey Quinn. He attended St. Augustine’s School, Iona Preparatory School, Mamaroneck High School and Stone Hill College. He served in the Naval Air Reserve. He had a 56 year career at Smith & Watson, manufactures of 18th century English furniture in NYC, a three generational family business. He was an avid reader and guitar player. He enjoyed vacations in St, Thomas, V.Is. with family and friends. He also loved the movie club and was a member of the Larchmont Yacht Club.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, June 16th 4-7 pm at John J. Fox Funeral Home 2080 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, NY 10538, (914) 834-0144. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for him at St. Augustine’s Church, 18 Cherry Avenue, Larchmont, NY Saturday, June 17th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jansen Hospice 670 White Plains Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
