My deepest sympathy to the Cerrone family.
I came to know Marge over the last several years when George and Caren graciously invited me to spend a day at " the country house". Marge was always welcoming and after several visits, I knew that bringing her anything chocolate would bring a smile to her face.
May she rest in peace.

Aunt Margie was a devoted and loving wife to an extraordinary gentleman George. As a mother, she encouraged her children to flourish in their varied endeavors and as a grandmother, she was the proudest kind who shared many stories about them.
Our family was privileged to feel this love she showered on family. We even visited her, George and our mom Mary at Lynne’s open door at the Cape. Her generous heart and spirited personality made for grand fun.
She truly loved and respected everyone with great abandon. Heaven will be her heaven with George. May we all keep a piece of Marge in our heart and soul.
We love you so. Kathy & John McAvoy Family

Marge was a true original - don’t think there is any doubt about that.
Strong, courageous, resilient , humorous, generous and honest.
WW2 generation sensibilities personified
Had some great conversations with her , and George,
over the years. Discussions filled with wisdom - always
relaxed and filled with laughter - always learned something too
She was a true compass for three terrific sons and,
if I might say, one multi-talented, free thinking, one of a kind daughter. Her influence, and George’s, made them all the exceptional people they are
The greatest legacy
It was an honor to have known her
A life well lived
Love always
Reed (“number 4 son “)

Mrs. Cerrone was so warm and welcoming to me even though we were together only a handful of times. She and her beloved husband George were the epitome of the greatest generation. They passed on their abundance of love, kindness and character to their four children, all of whom l have only the fondest memories of. What a wonderful life has left for heaven.

Rest In Peace Marge. I only knew you for a few years but you have touched my heart forever. I am thankful for everyday I got to spend with you. I enjoyed our tea and Italian cookies from the Bronx together. All your wonderful stories. You had a heart of gold. You made me feel like family. My only wish was that I knew you for longer. I miss you so much! You told me that you will wait for me in heaven and watch over me until then. I will treasure our friendship for ever. I love you Aunt Marge ❤️

Aunt Marge was such a fun, caring, and strong woman. One of the last of a truly great generation. All of us McAvoy kids have so many fond memories from the many wonderful 4th of July barbeques that Aunt Marge and Uncle George put on, as well as their many visits to our house growing up. She raised a great family and was a positive light for so many. Sending our love and prayers from North Carolina. She will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

…my Mom was a Lion Queen and I always knew that…
…she raised my brothers and me to be decent and kind and strong and resilient…
…she gave us roots and gave us wings…
…she was courageous and generous and dignified to the end…
…there is an old Swahili saying…
…”he who leaves for safari first has dry eyes”
…well…Mom has left to join Dad on safari now
…and the rest of us are left with wet eyes…
Love you with all my heart Mom…

Marge was our “adopted” Mother and Grandmother. She was the sweetest, most loving and caring woman that helped to shape our lives for over 30 years. Her goodness was evident to all who knew her. I will miss our 6:00am check in telephone calls, sitting with Marge early in the morning, both in our PJ’s, having a cup of tea and discussing the days events. Winter afternoons brought us together for a glass or two of wine. She lovingly looked after my children. My sons loved visiting her and George and discussing politics. They never came back home without something sweet to eat. Marge was especially close with my daughter. They loved each other and my daughter never missed an opportunity to visit with her. Her home was always open for babysitting or a sleepover. Marge would check in on my dogs if we were going to be delayed. How can you say ever goodbye to one of your most loved and dearest friends? Since my mother passed 38 years ago, Marge was a steady influence in our lives and provided the wise and common sense wisdom as I was raising my three children. My heart aches. Love you and thank you Marge for your love and friendship. You will live in my heart and the hearts of my family forever.
