Obituary of Christopher Corcoran
We mournfully announce the passing of beloved Terence Christopher “Chris” Corcoran, 61, of New Rochelle, New York, where he lived for his entire life. Christopher passed away in November, 2022.
Christopher was born to Mary Ellen and Terry Corcoran on September 16, 1961. He graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1980.
Christopher lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count, many of whom made themselves known to his family in recent months; the amount of love and care expressed by friends to his mother and siblings was a great source of comfort during troubling times. He was well loved by many for his sense of humor and penchant for telling jokes, conscientious nature, and kind-hearted soul. He was young at heart and loved to give gifts, often partaking in the merriment of his generosity.
Christopher was employed by DeWitt Clinton High School for about 30 years, where he was a remarkably hard worker, beloved by faculty, staff, and students alike. He was an avid music lover with a proclivity for heavy metal. He was also an excellent bowler. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 30 years, and was always willing to be of service, and to give of himself to help anyone in need.
Christopher was predeceased by his father, Terry Corcoran. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Corcoran; his sisters, Kelly Corcoran, Beth O’Brien and her husband Craig O’Brien, Ellen Corcoran, and Susan Corcoran; his nieces, Zoe Malzone, Tierney O’Brien, and his nephew, TJ O’Brien; his loving partner of many years, Ellen Sue Friedman; and his many friends.
A wake will be held at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont, New York on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at 1 PM to 4 PM, and from 6 PM to 8 PM. The family will be holding a private service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alcoholics Anonymous at contribution.aa.org, or to the charity of your choice.
