My name is James Stewart. I am a nephew of Jane Stewart, son of Willie Stewart.
I will never forget sitting across from Aunty Jane at our home in British Columbia as a child as she told of her adventures on horseback. It astounded me with wonder as she said that the only thing we really need to have on such rich treks is a tooth brush. This opened up my world more than much.
Astoundingly beautiful in the most simple manner, this is how Aunty Jane lived. A life of service, simplicity and beauty. True eloquence.
I truly wish I made more effort to get to know her more. Her life was and is art.
I’m not sure the exact saying but it’s true you don’t know how precious such things are until they are gone…yet she’s not gone as she will live as inspiration in our memories.
Paradoxes point us towards truth
