My dad just passed. I can’t even begin to put into words what this man has meant to my life. Adopted me when I was a baby and even with all the stupid shit I did growing up he never once treated me any different or even let me know I wasn’t his biological son. Even when he was bailing me out or coming to get me in the hospital after my latest fiasco. I only found out when i was out of my teens. (Funny aside - when my little brother used to piss me off I’d tell him he was adopted. Lol!)
Growing up when I was riding motorcycles or out and about my friends, all knew that if anything happened, let’s say I ended up in the hospital. They would call my dad because my mom would get hysterical. If I ended up in jail, which happened a few times they would call my mom because my dad would say let him stay overnight and learn a lesson. He was strict, but he was always there for me.
He ran the business right up until he got sick a couple of months ago even at 89.
He had more integrity than anyone I’ve ever known. We used to get into arguments when I was working in the family motorcycle business with him because he did everything on a handshake where I was “get it on paper or you’ll get taken advantage of.” Because of this he wasn’t as profitable as a lot of places. For many years he was just squeaking by but he managed to put a roof over our heads and keep as in good schools and give us what we needed. We had a nice house and pets growing up. Even though he “wasn’t an animal person” we got to keep every bedraggled dog, cat or whatever we dragged home because he knew it made us happy. We even had two St. Bernards, one after the other.
He taught me how to be self sufficient and it wasn’t just because I was the oldest of three. I think It’s because he knew what I was capable of even if I didn’t and he went out of his way to bring it out when he could have just buried himself in his work like so many others do.
He was always there for me. Even this last week when he was barely conscious he kept asking about my wife and telling me to take care of her because of how much we meant to him.
I was just going to write that he passed. This just poured out.

Frank will be missed so much. He was the kindest, sweetest and most honest man I was very fortunate to know & proud to call a very special friend. Whenever I spoke about him, I would always say, God doesn’t make them like Frank any more. You can always count on Frank to be there for you. My whole family loved Frank because of the way he lead his life with honor, caring for others, and for his generosity. My last phone conversation with him was a happy one in spite of him not feeling well. He was in good spirits, we chatted & laughed. He never let his illness take over the conversation and made sure that we ended the phone call with both of us laughing and looking forward to talk again.
I loved Frank so very much and I am so glad God brought him to my life and my family's life.
Nancy, I hope you know that myself, Walter & Simi will always be here for you & your family.
