Obituary of Albert J. Roth
Albert J. Roth died peacefully on January 6, 2026 at Willow Towers Assisted Living in New Rochelle NY. He was born in Mamaroneck on November 7, 1930, son of Albert and Mary Roth. He attended Holy Trinity School in Mamaroneck, Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle, and received a BA in English from Iona College.
Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He served in Korea as a correspondent for Stars and Stripes. After discharge from the Marines he returned to Mamaroneck and worked for CBS News, in security for IBM and General Foods, and for the major part of his career for Edward Clausen Security. After retirement he served as a medical courier.
Mr. Roth was caring and thoughtful, a good listener. He always put others first. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed participating in community theater, had a thirst for knowledge of current events, and was passionate about raising dogs.
Mr. Roth is survived by his sister Delia (Dolly) Hedlund of Washington D.C. and several cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, January 21, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 559 Pelham Manor Road, Pelham, NY, 10803. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Iona University, 715 North Avenue, New Rochelle,
NY 10801, for the University’s scholarship fund.
