Obituary of Armen G. Nishanian
Armen Nishanian, loving husband, father and corporate executive, passed away peacefully following a three year battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Tuesday, December 17 th , 2025 at the age of 77.
He is predeceased by his parents, Aznif and Armen Nishanian, sisters Virginia (Dukmejian), Alice (Keshian), and wife, Eleanor who passed away six weeks earlier, in November, 2025. He leaves behind a devoted son, Grant.
Born in Oceanside, NY on August 26 th , 1948, Armen would go on to graduate from Valley Stream Central High School in Long Island and attend New York University on a full scholarship. He also attended the City University of New York/Baruch College and received an MBA in Marketing.
Armen met his wife, Eleanor at a classical music concert and they married on May 20 th , 1979. While Armen liked classical music, Eleanor did not but thought it was a place to meet a nice man, and she was sure right.
Grant, their only child was born in 1981 at Lenox Hill Hospital.
In 1991, they would later relocate from a small apartment in Manhattan to the suburbs in Larchmont, where they would find smaller class sizes and a better way of life. Armen also appreciated the easy commute into Manhattan on the Metro North Railroad.
Armen was very career focused, having several long careers in Market Research, notably Fairchild Publications, Chemical Bank and Manufacturers Hanover Bank, which both merged into JP Morgan Chase Bank. He would retire in 2017 from Orange and Rockland/Con Edison Utilities.
Armen also supported Eleanor’s entrepreneurial ventures, ultimately culminating with Technowipe, which is a successful medical supply business run by Grant to this day.
Upon retirement, Armen took up hiking and would do several miles each week throughout the many local parks and preserves throughout Westchester County. He also was a member of the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Boomers and Friends group, the Greenwich Library Foreign Affairs Reading Group, and the Rye Tuesdays at 10 Men’s Club.
Family was very important and throughout the years would frequently vacation at Sea Colony in Bethany Beach, Delaware, and the Chataqua Institute as well.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont from 5-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at funeral home at 11am, followed by internment at Sharon Gardens at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center.
