Obituary of Frederick L. Scholl, Jr.
Frederick (Freddie) L. Scholl Jr. passed away on November 27, 2025 after a long journey battling esophageal cancer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years and partner of 42 years, Susan, daughter, Dominique, son, Shaun, four grandchildren, and two brothers, Jimmy and Anthony and their spouses Pam and Leslie.
He was a history buff and visited the NOLA World War II museum so many times he could have had a punch card. Any city he went to he researched history and was sightseeing, camera ready, albums of pictures captured. Freddie was a music aficionado and could not only tell you about the band’s history but speak about the countless shows in which he saw them. Even in the weeks before his passing, he was looking at upcoming concerts. Music was always played loud and enjoyed.
Freddie had a large love of life and spending time with others. He participated in numerous fraternal organizations. If he wasn’t home watching Star Wars movies for the 15th time or transferring songs from CDs to Apple Music, he was out with family and friends. He enjoyed a good meal out or social gathering with those that were close to him.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, shooting sports and traveling adventurely. He loved to travel to New Orleans each year on Halloween to celebrate his triumph during his cancer battles.
He was a lifelong law enforcement officer, retiring as a captain in the Westchester County Corrections.
If anyone needed help, Freddie was there. Whether your car broke down or you needed help moving, Freddie stepped up for those in need. He always had a story to tell. Freddie was fortunate to share his life with many loved ones. We will always remember the many laughs had with Freddie and his humor, and continue to let the good times roll.
His family will receive friends on Sunday November 30, 2025, at The John J. Fox Funeral Home, Inc. 2080 Boston Post Road Larchmont, NY 10538 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning at 10:00 AM followed by the interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
