Obituary of Maria Ludwig

Obituary for Mary Catherine Fennell Ludwig October 31, 1931 – October 26, 2025 Mary Catherine (Maria) Fennell Ludwig died peacefully on October 26 th five days short of her 94 th birthday. She was born in 1931 in Dublin, Ireland. Maria was a gifted artist and earned a BA from Dublin College of Art in 1953. She joined Aer Lingus as a flight attendant and moved her base to New York with several Irish friends. There Maria met Robert Ludwig and the two were married in 1960. She built a wonderful life in the US with her growing family, her many friends, her art, and several volunteer organizations. Maria was a lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity for the world around her and quiet, but firm conviction in her beliefs. She is survived by her four children: David, Robin (Matt), Richard and Petra (Shaw), eight grandchildren: Amylee, Anthony, Louis, Ryan Matt, Peter Matt, Meagan Matt, Fennell and Riley Shaw and two great grandchildren: Nathaniel Blanchard and Nicholas Blanchard. Maria will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
