Obituary of Timothy John Nagle
In Loving Memory of
Timothy John Nagle
February 13, 1946 – June 18, 2025
Timothy John Nagle, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at Calvary Hospital on June 18 th in the Bronx, surrounded by family. He was 79 years old.
Born on February 13 th , 1946, and raised in Morningside Heights, Manhattan, Tim graduated from Fordham Preparatory School and Fordham University. As well as acquiring an MBA from Iona College. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he attained the rank of Captain and earned two Bronze Stars. After returning home, he married Christine Barker, of the Bronx, and they settled in Larchmont, NY, where they raised their family and Tim became a fixture in the community. Tim volunteered for decades with the Larchmont Mamaroneck Little League, both coaching his children and on the Board of Directors. He took great joy in sharing not only his love for the game, but also teaching children the importance of teamwork, respect, and community. Additionally, he worked with the Robert C. Murray Scholarship Fund, honoring his fallen classmate from Fordham Prep who received the Medal of Honor in Vietnam. He took great pride in being a double Ram—an alumnus of both Fordham Prep and Fordham University—and in serving his country with honor. His deep sense of duty extended beyond his service, as he carried a lifelong devotion to remembering and honoring his fellow fallen soldiers through numerous Veterans organizations.
A dedicated family man, he was a lifelong Yankees fan, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his children and four grandchildren, who knew him simply and lovingly as “Papa.” Summers in the Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard, and Cape Cod were his favorite places to soak up the sun. His favorite annual tradition was attending the Army/Navy Football game each December. He loved a good military history book, a Fordham University tailgate, cooking meals for family and friends, and he was known for helping family, friends, and neighbors with any DIY project—always with a joke and a smile.
Tim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine of Larchmont, NY; his son Matthew and his wife Margaret of Brooklyn, NY; his daughter Kathleen and her husband Michael of Larchmont, NY; his four beloved grandchildren Griffin (6), Rosemary (5), Cecilia (4), and Addison (1). Additionally, he leaves behind his sister Katharine of New York, NY; his nieces Brigid of Hove, UK and Deirdre of New York, NY, as well as several cherished cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Tim will be remembered for his humor, kindness, toughness, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the love he generously gave, the lives he shaped, and the values he instilled.
He is now at peace. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
