Obituary of Loretta A. Brandstadter

Loretta A. Brandstadter, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025. She was the beloved wife of William A. Brandstadter, who predeceased her. She is survived by her loving children Erik and Lauren, adoring grandchildren VaiMana Haoa-Brandstadter, Vincent Brandstadter (Nicole), Erik Brandstadter Jr, and twin brothers Robert Maksudian of NYC, and William Maksudian of Larchmont.
Born November 21, 1937 to Edward and Satenig Maksudian. Loretta's twin sister Lillian passed in 1976. She has a daughter Ani Khatchian (Gary) and three sons.
Loretta lived in Larchmont 75 years, graduated from Mamaroneck High School and Hunter College with a BA and MA in art. She taught all grades and subjects in the Mamaroneck School System as a permanent substitute for 24 years, which included all the elementary schools, high school, and mostly in Hommocks Middle School. Loretta loved her students and encouraged them to strive for excellence. Students and staff appreciated her professionalism, talent, and dedication. Prior to working in Mamaroneck, Loretta taught art in Yonkers (Gorton and P.S. 5) and Mt. Vernon (A.B. Davis).
Loretta was a kind and thoughtful person with a great love for her husband and family. She will be remembered for her watercolor Christmas cards that she painted every year for family and friends.
There was a graveside ceremony led by Father Mesrob Lakissian of St. Illuminator's Armenian Cathedral in NYC.
