Con profunda tristeza y amor, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Maria Borja Chaves Vda. de Villaverde, quien partió en paz el 4 de mayo de 2025 a la edad de 94 años. Nacida en San Juan Nepomuceno, Paraguay, Maria vivió una vida plena, guiada por la fe, el amor y la familia. Pasó gran parte de su vida en Minga Guazú, Paraguay y más adelante en Westchester, Nueva York.

Amada madre y abuela, Maria fue el corazón de su familia. Dedicada al hogar, fue una mujer de profunda fe cristiana, excelente cocinera, y siempre presente para cuidar de los suyos. Disfrutaba de las cosas simples: reunirse con la familia, cuidar a sus gallinas, y hacer reír a todos con su gran sentido del humor. Una de sus tradiciones más queridas era enviar un video cantando “Feliz Cumpleaños” con tanta alegría a cada miembro de su familia sin faltar a ninguno—un gesto sencillo que dejó recuerdos imborrables.

Maria será recordada con amor por sus hijos Elias Ubeda, Ramona Ubeda, Julio Ubeda y Noni Ubeda, junto con sus numerosos nietos y familiares extendidos. Será recibida en el descanso eterno por su amado esposo Raul Ubeda, y sus hijos Ramon Villaverde, Raul Arnaldo Ubeda, Hugo Cesar Ubeda y Edith Maria Ubeda, así como por sus queridos hijos de corazón Olga Tesa Ubeda, Eduardo Ubeda y Elsa Dora Ubeda. 

Su legado de risa, calidez y amor incondicional vivirá en los corazones de quienes la conocieron.

With deep sadness and love, we announce the passing of Maria Borja Chaves Vda de Villaverde, who left this world peacefully on May 4, 2025, at the age of 94. Born in San Juan Nepomuceno, Paraguay, Maria lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, love, and family. She spent much of her life in Minga Guazú, Paraguay, and later in Westchester, New York.

A devoted homemaker, Maria was the heart of her family. She was a woman of deep Christian faith, a gifted cook, and a natural caregiver. She found joy in the simple things—gathering with loved ones, caring for her chickens, and brightening the lives of everyone around her with her quick wit and infectious sense of humor. One of her most cherished traditions was recording a joyful video of herself singing “Happy Birthday” for each and every member of her family without fail—a small gesture that brought big smiles and lasting memories.

Maria will be lovingly remembered by her children Elias Ubeda, Ramona Ubeda, Julio Ubeda, and Noni Ubeda, along with her many grandchildren and extended family. She will be welcomed into eternal rest by her beloved late husband Raul Ubeda, and her late children Ramon Villaverde, Raul Arnaldo Ubeda, Hugo Cesar Ubeda, and Edith Maria Ubeda, as well as her cherished stepchildren Olga Tesa Ubeda, Eduardo Ubeda, and Elsa Dora Ubeda.

Her legacy of laughter, warmth, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
