He was the beloved husband of Jennie for 22 years. Together, they raised five children: Thomas Jr. (21), Peter (20), George (18), Elizabeth “Libby” (17), and Robert (14), who were the pride and joy of his life. Tom considered his children his greatest accomplishment. He loved them deeply and drew strength and purpose from being their father.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret McFarland, and his brother John McFarland (Jo Ann). Tom was born on November 6, 1959, in Queens, New York and grew up on Long Island. Tom dedicated 26 distinguished years to the United States Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Colonel. He served in various roles, primarily in logistics, and completed multiple active-duty deployments. His leadership, integrity, and commitment to service earned him numerous commendations and awards.
