Obituary of Joan Lunt Sclater

Joan Lunt Sclater passed away peacefully at home on 3/3/25 at the age of 95.

She was predeceased by her husband Ranald D. Sclater in 1992 and is survived by their son William C. Sclater of Bondville, VT and daughter Jane Sclater Caro of New Rochelle, NY, and grandchildren Alexander T. Caro and Julia F. Caro.

Born in Cedar City, Utah, Joan spent her youth and early adulthood living in New York City and the last 66 years in Larchmont/Mamaroneck where she was an avid gardener, artist & crafter, as well as an accomplished equestrian, tennis player, sailor, and bowler. In her later years Joan frequently enjoyed traveling internationally.

Joan will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her for her twinkling smile, caring heart and her love of gift giving.
