It was wonderful to meet the delightful Mr Starr when I undertook a photography project and exhibit celebrating our distinguished Veterans. Mr Starr was then recently married, and an avid tennis player. I was amazed by his joie de vivre despite his advanced age - that did not hold him back, he was a very active gentleman with great humor. I took some more poignant photos of him, with his military uniform on which still fit perfectly, and he showed me his box of war memorabilia and medals. It was a great few hours with Mr Starr and I look back on that day fondly.
May he continue to rest in peace. I know he will be sorely missed by his friends and family.
