Br. Charles Frederick Mayer, SDB passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025.

He was born in Evansville, IN October 14, 1942. Received a BS from St. Edward’s University and a PhD from Indiana University. Entered the Pre-Novitiate at Don Bosco College, Newton, NJ 1973-1974 Novitiate Don Bosco College, Newton, NJ 1974-1975 1 ST Profession: Don Bosco College, Newton, NJ 9/1/75 Perpetual Profession: 8/1/81

Assignments:

Spent nine years teaching science at Don Bosco College, Newton, NJ (1973-1981) and one year teaching at Mary Help of Christians School, Tampa, FL(1981-1982).

Served as the Assistant Treasurer for the Salesian Province of St. Philip the

Apostle, New Rochelle, NY from 1982-1988. Community Treasurer of the Salesian Community in East Boston, MA 1998-2004.

Spent time at St. Antony Church, Elizabeth, NJ 2004-2007.

Served as the Bookstore Manager at the Marian Shrine, Stony Point, NY 2007.
