Elizabeth S. Wirsneck passed away suddenly at the age of 85 on November 11, 2020 at Whit Plains Hospital. Known to her friends and family as Betty, she was the daughter of William James and Gertrude Schumpp. She is predeceased by her parents and older brother Billy. Betty was born and raised on the Upper East Side of New York on December 2, 1934. She graduated from Julia Richmond High School and was the executive secretary to the Chairman of the board of Con Edison. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years Robert B. Wirsneck, her beloved daughter and Son in Law Alexandra Elizabeth and Massimo D’Elia and her cherished grandchildren Robert Joseph 17, Adriana Elizabeth 14, and Giana Alexandra 14, in addition to many first cousins. In addition to her deep love for her family and friends Betty’s love was with her church, beginning with Trinity Episcopal Church where she and married, to St. John’s Episcopal Church where she was an active member of the Alter Guild and Pastoral Care for 40 plus years. When not attending to her church duties you could find Betty and Bob at their favorite spot enjoying the sun, sand, and laughter at Larchmont Manor Beach. She was an avid reader, Sunday morning New York Times crossword completer, and a lover of all animals big and small. She was a friend, a mother, a grandmother and wife. She was loved beyond measure and will be missed for eternity by those her knew and loved her. Funeral service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Tuesday November 17, 2020 at 1:30pm. Internment immediately following at the church. We look forward to a mass later in the spring of 2021 to properly celebrate the life of this great woman with all those who loved her.
